Jeff Phillippi - 5k’s, 10k’s, and half marathons

My whole life I have enjoyed sports. I play soccer, basketball, and most outdoor sports like hiking and mountain biking. I started running three years ago so that I could be in better shape when I play soccer. I entered my first race and I took 2nd place.  Since then I have entered over thirty races. Last year I felt like I hit a plateau, I was not improving at all so I did some research to see how I could get better. I made some adjustments to my training and at a 5k someone talked to me about about Code Nutrition. It made total sense to me that everyone is different and would benefit from a vitamin made just for them. I was just taking some multi- vitamins from Costco. I never could tell if they were helping or not. I decided to get my DNA checked to see what specific vitamins I did and did not need.  I got the vitamins and was really impressed with the report. Its cool to have vitamins personalized to what my body needs. I was potentially deficient in calcium and vitamin D. I already feel better and stronger. The other day I was doing pushups and usually around forty I am hurting and at fifty I can’t do any more but I hit fifty and still could keep going.  I went all the way to sixty-five. That is the most I have ever done at one time. I am excited to see my race times get better and better.  I recently ran in the Swiss Days 10k and I finished 36:59 which is my personal best 10k time. Last year I ran the same race in 38:48. I ran in the Provo River Trail half marathon and finished it in 1hour and 19minutes.

Jarom Thurston - Ultra Marathons

I push my body to the limit by competing in Ultra Marathons (marathons that extend for several days and usually cover more than 100 miles). I recently competed in the Badwater Ultra Marathon, a 135 mile footrace across Death Valley.  When training, I find my body gets depleted a lot. To be competitive, it’s important that I put back what I’ve lost in the right quantities and my Code vitamins have made a big difference.
